So... Ludum Dare 40. My first game jam in 7 months.
And guess what. It rocked. My immediate idea upon hearing the theme was a game where power ups would lower the frame rate, but that turned out to be exactly as bad as it sounds. So I thought to myself "What is a good item in every game?", which brought me to coins. They are always useful. Buy cool stuff, get extra lifes, improve your score.
Now they got a catch. They are heavy. I mean, you basically collect metal blocks twice of your size. And that was my idea. Coins are needed, but slow you. You can bring more coins, but you can't jump as far. Or run as fast. You get the idea.
